[en] The Studio LED X5 PLUS BICOLOR can be positioned directly on the stage floor, on a tripod or hanged on a truss or on the ceiling or wall without altering its operation characteristics.

[en] Before suspending the illuminator, ensure that the carrying structure is capable of holding the weight of the device and that it is supplied with suitable secondary safety systems (steel cable, chains, etc.).

[en] The installation must always be secured with a secondary safety attachment, e.g. an appropriate catch net.

[en] This secondary safety attachment must be constructed in a way that no part of the installation can fall down if the main attachment fails.

[en] When rigging, derigging or servicing the fixture, staying in the area below the installation place, on bridges, under high working places and other endangered areas is forbidden.

[en] Before rigging make sure that the installation area can hold a minimum point load of 10 times the fixture’s weight.

[en] When installing the device, make sure there is no highly inflammable material (decoration articles, etc.) in a distance of min. 0.4 m.

[en] For securing a fixture to the truss install a safety wire that can hold at least 10 times the weight of the fixture.

[en] Use only safety wire with screw-on carabine. Fasten the safety cable in the attachment point and around the truss.

[en] The Studio LED X5 PLUS BICOLOR series fixture operates on AC power, 90 – 260 Vac, 50/60 Hz, autosensing. It will automatically adjust its operation to suit any frequency or voltage within this range.

[en] The fixture must be connected to a non-dimmable power source in order to avoid damage to its internal power supply and other electrical components.

[en] DMX 512 connection

[en] The fixture is equipped with 5-pin XLR sockets for DMX input and output.

[en] Only use a cable conforming to specifications EIA RS-485, 2-pole twisted pair, shielded, 120Ohm characteristic impedance, 22-24 AWG, low capacity with 5-pin XLR-plugs and connectors in order to connect the controller with the fixture or one fixture with another.

[en] Do not use microphone cable or other cable with characteristics differing from those specified.

[en] If you are using the standard DMX controllers, you can connect the DMX output of the controller directly with the DMX input of the first fixture in the DMX-chain. If you wish to connect DMX-controllers with other XLR-outputs, you need to use adapter-cables.

[en] Building a serial DMX-chain:

[en] Connect the DMX-output of the first fixture in the DMX-chain with the DMX-input of the next fixture. Always connect one output with the input of the next fixture until all fixtures are connected. Up to 32 fixtures can be interconnected.

Attention

[en] The last fixture has to be terminated with a terminator plug. Solder a 120 Ω resistor (minimum ¼ W) between Signal (–) and Signal (+) into a 5-pin XLR-plug and plug it in the DMX-output of the last fixture.

Avertissement

[en] The wires must not make contact with each other or with the metal casing of the connectors. The casing itself must be connected to the shield braid and to pin 1 of the connectors.
